Volunteer Police Corporal Charged with Sexual Bribery


          The accused, Ng Wan Fu Ivan is a Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC) with the Singapore Police Force (SPF). At the time of the offence, he was attached to the Marine Parade Neighbourhood Police Centre (Marine Parade NPC) holding the rank of Corporal. The accused’s duties as a VSC included performing neighbourhood patrols and where necessary, take part in anti-vice raids in the Geylang area.

2         Investigation revealed that between May 2007 and December 2007, the accused separately approached three female PRC nationals for sexual gratifications. The accused had asked the aforementioned females for sexual gratification to refrain from arresting them on suspicion of engaging in vice related activities.

3         Investigation also revealed that the accused had received an “Ang Pow” of $108/- from another female PRC national, as a reward for providing information on a police raid.

4         The accused appeared in court on 1st July 2010 for corruptly accepting gratification and attempting to obtain gratifications under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
