No Free Pass With Corruption
 

         The safety and security of a nation will be compromised if law enforcement officers accept bribes and disobey laws.

2       On 20 September 2017, Lim Zhi Yin, Catherine, a 26-year old Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Officer, will be charged for seven counts of corruptly accepting and corruptly agreeing to accept $1,680 from one Lim Boon Ian, Raymond, as a reward for granting 30-day social visit passes to various Thai female nationals, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.

3       For his part, Lim Boon Ian, Raymond has been sentenced to 8 months’ imprisonment for corruption on 24 April 2017.

4       Singapore adopts a zero tolerance approach towards corruption. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau takes a serious view of any corrupt practices and will not hesitate to take action against any party involved in such acts.
