Former MDIS Lecturer Charged with Corruption

 

          The accused, Krishnan Isabelle, was an English-language lecturer with the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) at the time of the alleged offence. As an English language lecturer, the accused taught English to international students of MDIS who did not study English as their first language.

2        Investigation revealed that on 3 occasions between September and October 2009, the accused corruptly obtained gratifications of $450/- each from 3 international students as an inducement for divulging the questions set for the Upper Intermediate Level English Examination that was to be held by MDIS on 14th October 2009.

3        The accused appeared in court on 20th September 2010 for 3 counts of corruptly obtaining gratification under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Cap 241.
