Six former Micro 2000 Technology employees were charged on 30 August 2016 for allegedly accepting or agreeing to accept gratification to bypass iPhone exchange procedures.

2. On 30 August 2016, six former employees of Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd will be charged for corruptly accepting or agreeing to accept gratification from one Yeo Jingyuan as follow:

i. Toh Ean Seng, Malaysian, Store Assistant

28 counts of corruptly accepting gratification amounting to a sum of $5,100 as a reward to disregard the Standard Operating Procedures set out by Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd on the exchange of customers’ iPhone handsets, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 241).

ii. Tan Jingren, Singaporean, Customer Service Officer

One count of corruptly agreeing to accept gratification as a reward to disregard the Standard Operating Procedures set out by Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd on the exchange of customers’ iPhone handsets, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 241).

iii. Pan Junwen, Mervin, Singaporean, Customer Service Officer

15 counts of corruptly accepting gratification amounting to a sum of $3,350, as a reward to disregard the Standard Operating Procedures set out by Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd on the exchange of customers’ iPhone handsets, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 241).

iv. Soh Geok Hong, Jackson, Singaporean, Customer Service Officer

One count of corruptly agreeing to accept gratification as a reward to disregard the Standard Operating Procedures set out by Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd concerning the exchange of customers’ iPhone handsets for replacement handsets, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 241).

v. Lim Shao Lun, Singaporean, Customer Service Officer

15 counts of corruptly accepting gratification amounting to a sum of $7,000, as a reward to disregard the Standard Operating Procedures set out by Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd on the exchange of customers’ iPhone handsets, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 241).

vi. Tan Jianwei (Chen Jianwei), Singaporean, Customer Service Officer

12 counts of corruptly accepting gratification amounting to a sum of $2,200, as a reward to disregard the Standard Operating Procedures set out by Micro 2000 Technology Pte Ltd on the exchange of customers’ iPhone handsets, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 241).

3. Singapore adopts a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau takes a serious view of any corrupt practices, and will not hesitate to take action against any party involved in such acts.
